Emirates Airline has announced the launch of three new European destinations for this year. The new services will be to Geneva, Copenhagen and St. Petersburg. Geneva was added to the airline’s European network on June 1 and will be followed by services to Copenhagen from August 1 and to St. Petersburg from November 1.
This was announced by the airline’s Vice President for Pakistan & Afghanistan Badr Abbas, while addressing a media gathering. Geneva is serving as Emirates’ second gateway into Switzerland after Zurich. The launch of the destination was spurred by a strong demand for both leisure and business travel from around the world including Pakistan. Given that Geneva is home to hundreds of international organisations and a major financial centre the airline expects a steady growth in passenger traffic to the destination.
