The residents of federal capital are anxiously waiting for the first pre-monsoon rains, which, according to the Met Office, are expected on Friday and Saturday.
The monsoon currents of moderate intensity have started to penetrate in the upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next 2-3 days. An official of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) told APP on Thursday that the pre-monsoon rain is also expected in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions as well as Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas during next 24-48 hours.
The dust thunderstorm/rain will occur in northeast Punjab and isolated places of Upper KPK during the period which will subside the prevailing heat wave conditions.
