Interior Minister Rehman Malik has called on his Kazakh counterpart Kalmuhanbet Kasymov and discussed issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and regional situation, a press release said on Wednesday.
Pakistan gives high importance to its relations with Kazakhstan, said the Interior minister who accompanied President Asif Ali Zardari during his visit to the Kazakh capital to attend the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Talking to journalists after his meeting with the Kazakh interior minister, Rehman said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan agreed on a commitment to jointly fight terrorism. Pakistan was serious in fighting terrorism, he said.
The Kazakh minister said that his country values its relations with Pakistan, adding that the relationship would be strengthened in the days ahead. He lauded efforts of Pakistan in fight against extremism.
