Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday met with Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and explained his differences with the party’s senior leadership, a private TV channel reported.
The report quoting sources said that Qureshi told Rabbani that his differences with President Zardari were over the issue of CIA agent Raymond Davis and not due to change of ministry.
According to the report, the former minister said he was stripped of foreign ministry over Davis’ issue. After refusal to accept Water and Power Ministry, neither president nor prime minister bothered to contact him, he told Rabbani.
The former foreign minister said that Q league’s inclusion in the federal cabinet would ruin the PP.
He, however, clarified that he would not join PML-N or any other party despite his differences with the leadership.
Rabbani assured Qureshi that he would speak to Gilani and the party leadership on this issue, the report added.
