Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah lauded the services of those institutions, organisations and people who are working for the welfare of the ailing humanity and providing free healthcare services to the underprivileged citizens. This he said while handing over a cheque of Rs 30 million to the Indus Hospital Chief Executive Dr Bari Khan at the CM House.
The CM said that it is appreciated that the Indus Hospital is providing free healthcare services to the underprivileged patients. He said that to serve the humanity is to worship Allah Almighty, and that such organisations and people must be encouraged. He assured that he would personally visit the hospital soon and observe the services being rendered by the hospital. Khan informed the CM that a group of dedicated doctors and businessmen had come forward and pledged their support to make a difference to the disadvantaged communities in the city by establishing and maintaining the free-of-charge Indus Hospital that provides premium healthcare to the citizens.
He also said that the hospital is being managed by a passionate and competent team of local and expatriate professionals working round-the-clock with surgical, medical, clinical facilities for almost all departments. Khan said that the Indus Hospital is being run at an operational cost of Rs 40 million per month. During the period of July 2007 and December 2010, 24,375 patients were treated, he added.
