Tanvir Dar Hockey Academy registered their fifth consecutive success in Germany when they beat Gladbacher Hockey Club by 7-0 on Monday. Tanvir Dar Academy’s Bilal Mahmood and Awais shared two goals each while Adeel, Adnan and Rizwan added one goals each. As in the second tour match in Germany against Dusseldorfer, Dar HA’s coach Akhlaq faced another former on the pitch rival as Galdbacher’s trainer was Oliver Kurtz, who played against him at the 1992 Olympics.
Dar HA began well and were awarded their first penalty stroke of the Europe tour within four minutes when a Bilal Mahmood try hit a defender’s foot. Adnan flicked it in the right upper corner of the net. The second goal also came via a set piece when Bilal availed the first penalty corner via an indirect drill. Adeel scored the third goal. and two minutes before the first hooter, a captivating interplay between Bilal, Adeel and Awais was given the final successful touch by the last named -4-0. In the 62nd minute, Rizwan scored gem of a goal. In a superb display of oriental wizardry, the nimble footed forward who is inspirational form, eliminated four defenders to net the fifth goal. The German outfit wasted the next two penalty corners. The last two Dar HA goals came in the final four minutes. The Gladbacher defence was caught off guard by a fast long clearance and the ball was well received by Bilal, Dar HA’s leading marksman of the European tour, at the top of the circle who rounded the goal keeper and slotted in. Then a fluent move was finished by Awais.
