Risk-free week starts

Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Khan Cheema has announced Risk Free Lahore Week from June 13 to 18 for the citizens’ safety. Cheema said it was the first time that Rescue 1122 and City District Government Lahore (CDGL) was taking such an initiative. He informed the media that citizens would be sensitized through seminars, lectures and awareness camps for the betterment of their lives in collaboration with the University of Lahore.
Cheema said public awareness camps would be established at Faisal Chowk and Liberty Market to brief citizens on the use of helmets and other preventive measures regarding emergency. Installation of 200 fire hydrants was underway in the supervision of Rescue 1122 and WASA, he said.Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Dr Ahmed Raza briefed about the statistics of increasing number of emergencies in Lahore, especially the preventable road traffic accidents and fire emergencies. He said Rescue 1122 was determined to work with the DCO to make the city a safer place.
