Philippines national convicted in narcotics case

Additional District and Session Judge Khizar Hayyat Sial on Monday convicted Seti Tamanag, a Philippines national, for one year and fined her Rs 10,000 for carrying 309 grams of narcotics. Tamanag was arrested while entering Pakistan from India via Wahga Border last year. Law enforcement agency officials recovered 309 grams of narcotics from her possession which she had had covered in capsules.
BOP ACCUSED REMAND EXTENDED: An accountability court on Monday extended the judicial remand of former Bank of Punjab (BOP) president Hamaish Khan, former Kazikistan honorary consulate Seith Nisar Ahmad and Haris Steel Mills Director Sheikh Muhammad Afzal until June 27.
The accused are involved in Bank of Punjab (BOP) scam in which Rs 12 billion has been embezzled. Hamaish has been charged that he issued Rs 6.20 billion loans to Afzal beyond his authorities. Nisar’s liability is 930 million rupees in this case, which he got illegally as loans in connivance high-ups of the bank. The court directed NAB authorities to file the reference in court by the next date of hearing.
