Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Malik Iqbal has been transferred from his post following the Supreme Court’s displeasure with the officer. Iqbal has been transferred to another department and his post has been given to FIA ADG Tehseenullah.

Reports said although an official notification had not been issued yet, there was a clear information that Iqbal has been made the DG of the National Anti-Terrorism Authority.

On June 3, the Supreme Court indicted the FIA DG of contempt of court in the NICL case. The CJP had said that Iqbal impeded the investigation into the NICL case and that the FIA chief played a clear role in removing investigating officer Zafar Qureshi.
