Mujahid Squad Superintendent of Police (SP) Athar Waheed on Monday said that the Elite Force has been made operational for security of VVIPs and other sensitive places of the city to counter crimes and terrorism. Waheed ordered a contingent of Elite Force, which will consist of 10 vehicles for patrolling on different roads and places of the city to control crimes and terrorism.
He said that officials of the Elite Force will remain active in effective patrolling with the help of modern equipment and facilities to meet any untoward incident. The Mujahid Squad SP said that from airport to Bhatta Chowk, Burki Road to Elite Centre, airport to Harbanspura and Mehmood Buti, Niazi Chowk to Taj Company Sherakot, Thokar Niaz Baig to Sagian Pul, IG Chowk to Al-Hamra, Fortress Stadium to Regal Chowk, Liberty Market, Kalma Chowk, Barkat Market and Chungi Amar Sidhu were declared as most specified roads upon which contingents of Elite Force would patrol.
Waheed said that DSPs concerned will present a daily diary to him. He said that protection of life and property of citizens will be top priority of the patrolling squad, which will provide an extra sense of security to citizens.
