The present law and order situation is not so as bad for the country as it is for the citizens. Everyday, we hear incidents that make a mockery of our law enforcement and security agencies. When it is not about their inability, it is about their incompetence. It seems we are living through a nightmare. The recent incident of Rangers officials killing an unarmed civilian raised an outcry among the masses and every Pakistani is in a state of shock.
Even if the guy was a criminal, still he had the right to trial, given to him by the constitution of this country. It is also important to mention here that it’s not the responsibility of Rangers to deal with civilians, and their services are only required in emergencies. It should have been the local police to deal with this case. Sadly, due to the present law and order condition of Karachi Rangers have been deployed all over the city and given extra authority. This is not desirable because civilian cases and matters should be dealt by police and not Rangers.
