A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of a bank in the federal capital, killing a security guard and injuring several others, as three security personnel were killed in multiple acts of terrorism in Quetta and South Waziristan Agency on Monday.
In Islamabad, a young man blew himself up outside a bank located in Sector I-8 Markaz, killing the security guard manning the entrance gate and injuring four others. The explosion damaged several other offices and shops in the surroundings, as well as vehicles parked in the area.
Police sources said the bomber was a youth sporting a thin beard. “Around seven to 10kgs of explosives were used,” they said. In Quetta, two people were injured in an explosion on Gulistan Road. Police said an explosive device fixed on a bicycle parked near a checkpost blew up, injuring two passers-by.
Meanwhile in South Waziristan Agency, three security forces personnel were killed and four others injured when militants attacked their patrol vehicle in the agency’s Ladha region.
