Karachi violence claims eight more lives, five injured

At least eight people were killed including MQM and ANP workers and a policeman while five others sustained injuries in various incidents of target killing in Karachi, said police.

The police sources said that two people were killed while four others sustained injuries during exchange of firing in a clash between two groups in Ali Garh Town located in the jurisdiction of Orangi Town Police Station. At least two people were injured in the jurisdiction of Peerabad Police Station.

In Orangi Town, unknown armed people killed Sahfique Ajmairi and Adeel while Alamgir Akbar and Ghafar were injured. In Peerabad, anonymous gunmen opened fire and killed a man named Abdul Ghafoor while Roshan Khan sustained serious injuries. The police shifted the dead bodies and the injured ones to a nearby hospital and stared further inquiry of the incident.

The sources said that members of MQM and ANP were involved in this clash between two groups and added that the killed and injured also belonged to these parties.
