The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Judge Rana Nisar Ahmad on Saturday issued a perpetual arrest warrant for former president Pervez Musharraf during the hearing of Benazir Bhutto murder case.

The ATC judge issued the arrest warrant during a closed door hearing in the Adiyala Jail. FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar told the court that the former president did not appear before the court even after being summoned and being declared a proclaimed offender.

On the prosecutor’s request that the court order Musharraf’s movable and immovable property in the country to be confiscated, the court sought details of all assets of the former president. The court issued permanent arrest warrant for Musharraf, which would be valid until his arrest. The next hearing of the case would be held on June 25.

FIA Director General Malik Muhammad Iqbal was also summoned by the court, who apologised for attempting to change the investigation officer in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, saying Khalid Rasool was still heading the investigation.
