Bio-metric checkposts will be set up on the Pak-Afghan border within three weeks, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Saturday.
Addressing a joint press conference with his Afghan counterpart Lt Gen Bismillah Khan Muhammadi, Malik said a joint mechanism would be devised to grant immunity in diplomatic visa. Pakistan and Afghanistan also agreed to deploy a joint task force on the Pak-Afghan border against militants’ infiltration within three weeks.
The Afghan interior minister said the Pak-Afghan border agreements would be materialised. He said both countries had agreed to jointly tackle the issue of militants’ infiltration into each other’s country.
