Rs 693 million allocated for judiciary

The Punjab government has allocated Rs 693.368 million in the new budget for judiciary, which covers 79 schemes.
A sum of 578.368 million rupees is reserved for 76 ongoing and Rs 115 million for three new ones. According to details, the ongoing schemes include construction of staff quarters, police barracks and car parking at the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench besides judicial complex (residential portions) at Pind Dadan Khan, Jaranwala, Chunnian and Pakpattan.

Other schemes are judicial officers and staff residences at the Session Court Complex Gujranwala and, residence for AD&SJ at Rojhan, Rajanpur along with judges’ houses and suites for the LHC Bahawalpur Bench.

The budget also envisions various facilities at the district and tehsil levels across the province. For example, an amount of Rs 9.085 million is also reserved rupees for the record room and Rs 1.547 million for the boundary wall around the judicial complex in Mianwali.
