Late Syed Saleem Shahzad has been posthumously awarded an Italian journalism prize, a press release issued by Italian news agency Adnkronos International (AKI) said.
The Italy Ischia Prize Foundation awarded the prize for international journalism in a unanimous jury decision. This annual award recognises excellence in journalism and communication.
Shahzad was was found dead 150 km south of Islamabad, May 31, two days after his disappearance in the capital.
Shahzad’s widow Anita will receive the award as the ceremony will be held in Ischia, Italy, on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July.
