Keeping in view the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s warning of an approaching cyclone, the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has imposed a ban on the entry, picnicking, bathing and swimming in the sea within the CDGK limits. According to a city government announcement on Thursday, Karachi Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has imposed the ban under Section 144 of the CrPC and the order shall come into force with immediate effect. The PMD had issued an advisory that a well-marked low pressure area in the eastern Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a depression on Wednesday night and develop into a cyclone.
