An A Level student was murdered while resisting a robbery at his house in Wapda Town in the Sattukatla police precincts on Thursday. A case has been registered against five including the housemaid Yasmin and her husband Mukhtar, though no arrests have been made so far. The deceased, identified as Hassaan, 18, was a resident of House No 318, E-I Block, Wapda Town. Hassaan’s neighbour Raheel said that five unidentified men barged into Hassaan’s house at around noon and held his parents as hostages. Hassaan resisted when the robbers attempted to loot valuables and was shot. Upon hearing the bullet shots, locals of the area gathered at the said house and informed the police and rescue services. Rescue 1122 reached the spot within minutes and rushed the victim to Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The robbers had already fled by the time local police reached the spot.
The Sattukatla police collected forensic evidence and moved the body to morgue for autopsy. Hassaan’s father Abdul Latif told the police that five accused robbers had barged into their house in connivance with the housemaid Yasmin. He added that the accused housemaid had also fled from the house along with the robbers after killing his son. Sattukatla Police Station House Officer Javed Siddiq claimed that they had reached the crime scene within five minutes and after knowing that the housemaid had fled with the robbers, they conducted a raid at her rented house in Sattukatla. However, the maid’s house was found locked. He further told that the accused housemaid Yasmin belonged to Okara and a police team had been sent to find and arrest the criminals. He also claimed that Yasmin’s husband Mukhtar was also involved in the incident. A case would be registered against the accused men under robbery and murder charges, the SHO said.
