Tanvir Dar Academy begins tour of Germany

The Tauqir Dar Hockey Academy team, after retaining the MOP International Youth Tournament title in Holland, has now reached Germany for the second leg of their European tour. After reaching Germany they played their opening match against SW Neuss under-16 side. Dar Academy started from where they had left in Holland. In the third minute, skipper Rizwan made his way into the circle through a fine solo run. His full-blooded shot was well saved by the goal keeper but Rana Sohail capatalised on the rebound to put his side ahead. Five minutes later, Bilal Mahmood added the second goal through an immaculate indirect penalty corner drill. Bilal also netted the third in the 10th minute. In the 15th minute, a long ball found the prolific goal scorer Aamer Ali in the circle who put it in the net in a flash.
Fifth goal came via Hammad Mansoor’s stick after a foray from left. Sohail, who didn’t play in the Holland tournament, was a constant threat on the left wing. After a full pace chase flank, he slid the ball to unmarked Waqas who had his attempt blocked by the short stopper but Sohail was there to put the rebound into the cage to make it 6-0 just before the first hooter.
SW Neuss appeared more organized in the second half and made things difficult for the Dar HA forwards and no goal came in the first 10 minutes. Finally irresistible Bilal Mahmood managed to add to the tally in the 48th minute. The eighth goal by Hammad Mansoor was the result of a move which had goal written all over it, initiated by centre half Skander. The tally was completed by Sohail who was the second Pakistani of the evening to get a hat trick along with Bilal Mahmood.
