Pakistan exports to UK rise by 24pc

According to the officials at the commerce wing of the Pakistan High Commission, Pakistan’s exports to the UK have increased by 24 per cent reaching a total of 70.15 million pounds this March.

Pakistan’s imports from the UK have decreased by 9.45 per cent since March 2010 adding up to a total of 31.62 million pounds this year and resulting in a positive balance of trade for Pakistan.

The officials added that UK is one of the top five countries for Pakistan’s exports with the total volume of trade between the two countries increasing by 11 per cent since March last year.

A significant rise was seen in the export of food items such as sugar, cooking oil, cereal, flour, milk, starch, fruits and tobacco. Apart from these Pakistan also exports earths and precious stones to the UK.
