Hyderabad’s rickshaw drivers threat to protest against ban

After recent announcement of a permanent ban on two stroke rickshaws the drivers have threatened to launch a stern protest in Hyderabad.
More than 20 thousand two stroke rickshaws are currently being used in Hyderabad and panic has gripped their drivers after hearing about the permanent ban, from June 30, announced by Sindh Transport Authority. The leaders of Light Transport Rickshaw Union have said that if government will not reverse its announcement soon then they will announce their next move.
Rickshaw drivers have said that their families will face hunger after closure of their rickshaws. They demanded the government to review its announcement of banning two stroke rickshaws otherwise they will be compelled to stage stern protest.
