Ashraf appointed PAÏR Investment Managing Director

The Finance Ministry has appointed Syed Iqbal Ashraf, SEVP and Group Chief of National Bank of Pakistan, as the Managing Director / Chief Executive Director of PAÏR Investment Company Limited (formerly Pak-Iran Joint Investment Company Limited). Ashraf is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FACCA) from England and brings with him over 33 years of International banking experience serving in senior positions in UK, US, Middle East and Pakistan.
Previously, Ashraf has served as the Director of Pak-China Investment Company and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Khyber. He has also served as investment banking country head and financial institutions’ head for Societe Generale (SG) – the French International Bank from 1996 to 2002. His main achievements at SG were his appointment as the Financial Advisor to Privatisation Commission of Pakistan for the successful privatisation of United Bank Limited. During his time at SG, he also successfully arranged a syndicated facility as the sole arranger of US$100 million for Water and Power Development Authority and major roles as financial advisor and lead arranger for AWT, SNGPL and SSGC.
