Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani Tuesday reiterated his government’s resolve to strengthen democratic institutions and introduce a parliamentary culture of tolerance. This commitment, he said, was being pursued in accordance with late Benazir Bhutto’s vision of politics of reconciliation. Gilani was talking to a six-member APNS delegation that called on him here at the Prime Minister’s House. The PM gave Rs 25 million cheque to the delegates, as the first instalment, for the construction of APNS House in Karachi. Last month the PM, while speaking at the APNS Convention in Lahore, had announced that government would give Rs 50 for the newspapers’ association office. The delegation told the PM that the people in general considered the budget was a balanced and realistic document.
