After gas and power, now Punjab is facing acute shortage of petrol in many cities. According to the media reports, people of Punjab, who were already troubled by gas and power load shedding now have to bear petrol shortage, which has multiplied their miseries many folds.
Long queues of vehicles were seen on Tuesday at petrol pumps in many cities of Punjab including Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha and Bahawalnagar. Moreover, motorists were found going from one pump to another in the hope of finding some petrol for their vehicles.
People of Multan complained that the city’s petrol pumps were not supplying petrol promptly and were taking breaks of two hours after every one hour of supplying petrol.
In Sialkot, the people could not find petrol anywhere, while in Faisalabad, dealers have stopped the sale of petrol after the reduction in prices.
People of Sargodha, Jhang, Bahawalnagar and many other cities of Punjab are also facing same problems.
PARCO refinery has been closed for annual overhauling and due to financial problems other refineries have reduced production, which is the main cause of petrol shortage in Punjab.
