The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Tuesday announced names of 37 candidates for the upcoming elections of Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Addressing a news conference here, PPP General Secretary Jahangir Badar said the candidates had been finalised following a transparent procedure and in consensus with the party leadership. He said that the leadership tried to accommodate maximum number of workers and asked those who were not awarded tickets to play active role for the party’s success. AJK PPP Chief Ch Majeed and PPP Women Wing Chairperson Faryal Talpur were also present on the occasion.
The candidates who were awarded party tickets included Afsar Shahid Masood, Ch Abdul Majeed, Barrister Sultan Mehmood, Ch Arshad Hussain, Ch Pervez Ashraf, Ch Razzaq, Ch.Anwar Haq, Ch Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Sardar Bashir Pehlwan, Ch Mohammad Yasin, Matloob Inqlabi, Raja Asif Ali, Sardar Qamar uz Zaman, Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar, Faisal Rathore, Sardar Amjad Tousif, Sardar Ghulam Sadiq Khan and Sardar Yakoob Khan, Col Shoukat Muzzafar, Sardar Mohammad Hussain, Sardar Akhter Hussain Rabbani, Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayoub, Bazil Naqvi, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Ch Latif Akber, Ashfaq Zaffar, Ch Mohammad Rasheed, Ch Maqbool, Ch Shoukat Ali, Ch Muhammad Siddique Batli, Amin Chugtai, Ghulam Mohi ud Din Dewan, S M Shah, Azhar Hussain Gillani, Abdul Salam Butt and Abdul Majid Khan.
