Kasuri sees future govt through politics of alliances

“I am seeing the dominance of politics of alliances in the next era of Pakistani political canvas as in the changing scenarios no mainstream party has footing among the masses in all parts of the country,” said Former foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri.
Talking to Pakistan Today, Kasuri, who is also senior Muttahida Muslim League (MML) leader, said some national political parties, once having an electoral mandate in all the provinces had lost their worth in one or another and these would have to ally with other regional political forces.
He said no single political party would be in a position to form government, so forging greater alliances would be the best strategy.
He predicted the next government would be formed through political alliances as regional political forces had gained popularity among the masses owing to the increased regional problems. “We, as MML members, have started finding the likeminded politicians who can work for the country’s prosperity and the well-being of the masses and will certainly go for an electoral alliance with sincere and patriotic people,” he said.
Kasuri disclosed MML, formed by merging four ML factions   PML-Q (Likeminded Group), PML-Zia, AML and PML (Functional), had decided to contest next general elections on the platform of the unified Muslim League.
