The Para Chamkani tribesmen of Kurram Agency Tuesday said terrorism was a global issue and could be uprooted only if Pakistan, US and Afghanistan worked jointly by building trust and ensuring better intelligence-sharing. The gathering held at the agency headquarter, Parachinar, slammed the brazen attack by Afghan Taliban on peaceful citizen and police in Upper Dir a few days ago and demanded the NATO and the US to ensure prevention of similar gory incidents.
The tribal jirga led by Malik Nasrullah Khan, which was attended by eminent tribal elders, warned that they would not accept infiltration of Afghan Taliban and support the Pakistani forces against the miscreants. The participants also demanded the US-led forces to take cogent measures for halting the cross-border movement as any repeat would tantamount to encouraging militancy.
