Referring to the alleged mishandling of the issue of the former National Cricket Team captain Shahid Afridi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif accused the government of mistreating the matters of the national interest.
Talking to journalists after inauguration of a summer cricket camp, former prime minister said the government policies had turned Pakistan into a banana state where democracy had never been given chance to grow up while corruption and unaccountability made the situation worst here.
He expressed his wonder why the government was hesitating to constitute a commission to probe into the Abbottabad incident and added that the delay had damaged the image of Pakistan in the world.
He said Shahid Afridi was a great player who brought the green shirts to semi final of the world cup and made the nation proud but mishandling in his case revealed the incompatibility of the cricket board.
