The renowned actress and vice-president of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Atiqa Odho was off-loaded from a Karachi-bound flight at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Saturday after the ASF recovered two bottles of wine from her luggage.
However, after intervention by influential personalities, no action was taken against her and she was released shortly. A source at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport told Pakistan Today that ASF officials recovered two bottles of imported wine from Atiqa’s baggage; resultantly, she was disembarked from the PIA flight PK-319. After off loading her, the ASF officials brought the matter into the notice of their high-ups.
The source said exchange of harsh words was also witnessed between the ASF officers and actress. “ASF released her after receiving a number of telephone calls,” source said. However, he said during the ‘episode’ the accused actress missed her scheduled flight. Later, she returned to Islamabad.
Despite frequent attempts made by this scribe, Atiqa could not be approached for her version.
