The government announced on Saturday a lucrative salary package and various perks for law officers. This increased expenditure will be met from the budget allocated to the minister of law, justice and parliamentary affairs. As per the notification, the attorney general will be paid a basic salary of Rs 368,186, a superior judicial allowance of Rs 170,625 and a house rent of Rs 68,000 if official residence is not provided.
The total salary will thereby accumulate to Rs 606,811. Meanwhile, the additional attorney general will be paid a basic salary of Rs 347,345 and a superior judicial allowance of Rs 136,500. A house rent of Rs 65,000, in case official residence is not provided, will also be paid. This will take the additional attorney general’s total salary to Rs 548,845.
