A local court on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to an accused for murdering a shopkeeper in 2006. Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Abdullah Channa pronounced the verdict accusing Mohammad Nadeem of killing Huzur Bux in the Mobina Town area.
The verdict stated that the prosecution, by producing sufficient evidence in court, had successfully proved the charge against the accused at home beyond any shadow of doubt; and that the witnesses have fully implicated the accused while the documentary evidence also corroborates their testimonies. According to the prosecution, the accused and an absconding accomplice equipped with weapons had entered the shop of Bux on June 16, 2006 to commit robbery but they killed the shopkeeper when he resisted their move.
Nadeem was arrested from the spot while the co-accused managed to escape. A case was registered against the accused men under sections 302 (punishment for Qatl-i-Amd), 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The accused was produced before the court in custody and the court sent him back to the prison along with the conviction warrant to serve out his sentence.
