Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed said there are numerous contributions by Shahid Afridi but we are duty-bound to maintain discipline at all levels. Shahid would be given every opportunity to express and defend himself before disciplinary committee.
Three members’ disciplinary committee will be chaired by Sultan Rana, director of domestic cricket and will include Shafiq Ahmed, general manager of domestic cricket, and Usman Wahla, manager of International cricket. Taffazul Rizvi, the board’s legal advisor, will assist the committee.
Hearing of the thorny issue of Shahid Afridi would commence at 3 pm in Qaddafi Stadium Lahore on 8th June and Shahid Afridi would face the committee during the hearing.
We will ensure that Shahid would be given every opportunity to express and defend himself and as such the disciplinary process has been clearly spelt out to avoid any ambiguities. A detailed but formal order would come forward after hearing arguments.
