The passing out parade of the Army Air Defence Corps recruits was held at Malir Cantonment on Friday morning.
Malir General Officer Commanding Major General Agha Masood Ikram was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the parade, he dilated upon the need to adopt modern techniques of warfare to maintain the cutting edge over all adversaries.
Maj Ikram also urged the recruits to show utmost vigilance and devotion in undertaking any task assigned to them. Later, he distributed prizes among the outstanding recruits. The Centre Commandant Medal for best firer was awarded to recruit Sallahuddin and the Commander Army Air Defence Command Medal (Physical Training) was given to recruit Ghulam Murtaza.
Zahid Bashir was adjudged overall second best recruit of the course and received the Colonel Commandant Medal and recruit Shoaib Gul, being the best recruit of the course, was awarded the Colonel-in-Chief’s Cane. During the course of the parade, recruits showed a high level of coordination and mastery over the drill.
In the end, the recruits presented an impressive demonstration of unarmed combat training. A large number of officers, junior commissioned officers, jawans and relatives of the passing out cadets witnessed the parade.
