One of the most famous ‘American Idol’ alums is going to be joining the cast of ‘The Three Stooges’. According to reports, Jennifer Hudson will play a nun in the orphanage where a young Larry, Moe, and Curly spent some time as kids.
Hudson will star along side ‘Glee’ star Jane Lynch who will reportedly take the role of Mother Superior in the orphanage. ‘The Three Stooges’ started filming in Atlanta in early May. Hollywood veterans, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, are directing the film.
The Farrelly brothers have been involved with numerous Hollywood hits including ‘There’s Something About Mary’, ‘Me Myself & Irene’, ‘Shallow Hal’, ‘Stuck On You’ and ‘Dumb and Dumber’. The movie has been in the works for quite sometime and is now off and running. Stars such as Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benecio Del Torro, were previously rumored to star in the film. The new funny trio will star Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, and Will Sasso as Curly.
The Farrelly brothers have mentioned in the past that they will take a modern day approach to the film. Jennifer Hudson was on season three of ‘American Idol’. She was a finalist eliminated in seventh place that season. She reached elite status in 2007 when she won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie ‘Dreamgirls’.
Hudson has also been very successful in her music career and is a Grammy award winner. Hudson continues to be a Hollywood staple as she progresses in her acting and music careers.
