US Defense Secretary Robert Gates arrived in Kabul Saturday on a farewell visit to Afghanistan, an AFP reporter travelling with him said.
Gates is expected to visit some of the roughly 90,000 US troops serving in Afghanistan and meet senior Afghan politicians on his last trip to the war-torn country after four-and-a-half years at the Pentagon.
