As many as 625 emergency medical technicians from 12 major cities of Punjab have completed the advanced refresher course in Emergency Services Academy in three batches.
The objective of this course was to enhance the skills of the emergency medical technicians in accordance with international guidelines. A change in the CPR method and ratio as standardized by the American Heart Association was also taught.
Moreover, a special short training on Disaster Management was incorporated in their course.The technicians were trained in professional emergency management of critically injured patients, especially in incidents of mass casualties.
During the training, the trainees went through a series of surprise scenarios on which they were evaluated.
