PML-N fields candidates for 34 AJK constituencies

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday announced the names of its candidates to run in June 26 elections for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The PML-N said it would field candidates for 34 out of 41 constituencies.
The names of the candidates were announced by PML-N Parliamentary Board Chairman Raja Zafar-ul-Haq at a press conference here at party’s secretariat.
Haq, who was flanked by Saddiqul Farooq, said that the party had made seat adjustments with Jammat-i-Islami and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party at four seats.
Following are the names of the candidates:
Raja Ali Zaman (LA- 1 Mirpur-1), Captain Muhammad Sarfraz Khan(LA-2 Mirpur II),Arshad Ghazi (LA-3 Mirpur III city), Naveed Akhtar Goga (LA-4 Mirpur IV), Col(Rtd) Abdul Ghani Noor (LA-5 Barnala), Raja Muhammad Razaq (LA-6 Samani), Ch Muhammad Tariq Farooq (LA-7 Bhimber), Malik Muhammad Saleem(LA-8 Kotli-I), Sardar Farooq Sikandar (LA-9 Kotli II), Raja Naseer (LA-10 Kotli III); Raja Iqbal Khan (LA-11 Kotli IV), Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan (LA- 12 Kotli V), Muhammad Mushtaq Nayar (LA-15 Bagh 3); Ch Muhammad Din Shadayee (LA-16 Bagh 4), Chaudhry Muhamamd Yasin Gulshan (LA-17 Ponch 1), Sardar Khan Bhadar Khan (LA-18 Ponch).

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that that under the seat adjustment deal with Jammat-i-Islami PML-N would not field its candidates in LA-14 and 41. While PML-N would support Jammu Kashmir People’s Party’s candidates in LA-19 and 20, he said.
He said that since results were pending in constituencies (LA-13, 33 and 36) that was way candidates were not filled there.
Zafar said the party’s parliamentary board conducted the selection process transparently and after interviews of the applicants from all the 41 constituencies.
