The city witnessed a heavy burst of rain, 27 millimeters, on the first day of June. While some enjoyed this pleasant cool wave amidst simmering spells, others lamented they missed a few appointments. The city’s temperature fell to 28 degrees Celsius after the rain. Lawerence Road, Zahoor Elahi Road and Queens Road submerged in the water, which disrupted traffic. Bikers took shelter under the underpasses. Hoping for the cool spell’s continuation, the citizens made snacks and enjoyed the rain. Waseem, a citizen, said the rain halted his plans but the respite was needed. He said better a drainage system was expected this year. Children were seen enjoying the rain. The Met office said isolated rains with dust-thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and other divisions and Kashmir in the next 24 hours (Thursday).
