The police of Pakistan have been ineffective in stopping the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
The reason for this is mainly the neglect that the department faces at the hands of the various incumbent administrations.
The police have always been allocated the most meager amount in the budget and resources have not been provided, while the recruitment process is also marred with nepotism and corruption. With all these ills facing the institution, it is surprising that the police are even functioning at some level.
It is imperative that if the government is serious in addressing the issue of law and order, it should provide the police with the proper resources.
