PML-Q Youth Wing protests for Moonis’ release

Dozens of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Youth Wing activists staged a protest outside the Lahore Press Club on Thursday against the detention of Moonis Elahi. The protesters were carrying party flags, placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of Moonis and against the government, alleging it had illegally implicated him in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam.
They were also chanting slogans for Moonis’ release. They urged the judiciary to take up the case on merit as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had failed to prove any connection of the PML-Q leader with the culprits. They contended that the FIA had no evidence against Moonis and he was pulled into the NICL land scam on political grounds.
They said all the cases were registered against Mohsin Habib Warraich’s family and Moonis had nothing to do with the scam. They therefore demanded the government withdraw the case against Moonis.
