Half-baked knowledge

To learn means “to seek knowledge or gain information”. From the very beginning of life, man beings to learn about his surroundings as he explores things.

The importance of learning in one’s life has been emphasised in our religion can be proved by the following Hadith of our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): “Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.”

However, the thin line between being ignorant and being learned is often not given importance as those who have little knowledge consider themselves as learned people and end up not only creating trouble for themselves but also misguiding other people.

It is these people who have incomplete knowledge and spread ignorance in society that are the real threat as they spread intolerance and bigotry. Its cleric of both persuasions (religious and secular) who now have public forums to spout much rhetoric based on little or half-baked knowledge. It is true that a little knowledge is way worse than ignorance and can cause more harm.
