13 cops booked for kidnapping, torturing two citizens

The Daska city police, on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC), registered a case against 13 policemen, including Inspector Irfan Sulehria and Sub Inspector Nadeem Ashraf, for kidnapping, humiliating and brutally torturing two citizens.
According to the FIR, Inspector Irfan Sulehria (SHO Daska City Police Station), Sub Inspector Nadeem Ashraf, ASI Shahbaz Ahmed, Muhammad Iqbal (Muharrar), Head Constable Mushtaq Ahmed, constables, Muhammad Shabir alias Bara, Muhammad Shabir alias Chhota, Hassan Ali alias Don, Muhammad Kashif alias Kashi, Ali Akbar, Mubashar, Ehsan Ullah and Ansar, stormed into the house of a local cleric, Sain Muhammad Riaz, in Hajipura and kidnapped him and his son Fiaz Ahmed. The police officials took the victims to the Daska city police station where they brutally tortured them on the charge of murdering the brother of a trader, Mirza Abdul Hamid Mughal.
According to the FIR, the accused police officials brutally tortured Sain Riaz and his son Fiaz. They also forced them to drink their urine and eat stool as they demanded drinking water. The FIR further stated that Inspector Irfan Sulehria and the other police officials demanded Rs 300,000 for their release.
Later, the victims’ family approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) whose special bailiff raided the police station, recovered Sain Riaz and his son Fiaz from the illegal detention and produced them before the court. The grieved family has urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, IGP Punjab Javaid Iqbal, Gujranwala RPO Ahmed Mubarak and DPO Bilal Siddiq Kamyana to take serious notice of the police brutality and order their immediate arrest.
