NAB submits reference against illegal allotment

The Punjab National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has submitted a reference to an accountability court against former AC/DSC Rafique Ahmad Awan, Malik Masood Ahmad, former district officer revenue (DOR)s Asghar Ali, Abdul Qadir and Chaudhry Muhammad Yousaf Valana, involved in an illegal allotment of 4,710 kanals of government land, violating the Supreme Court’s orders. According to details, Asghar Ali filed an application before the extra settlement officer and the additional settlement commissioner under Section 10/11 of the Displaced Persons Act, saying he was originally allotted government land situated in Peero Chak, Tehsil Daska which has been allotted to Khurshid Ali Shah on fake documents. The application was dismissed.
Later, Asghar filed an appeal against the decision, which was accepted and the allotment in the name of Khurshid was cancelled. Khurshid then filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court (LHC), which was accepted and the allotment was restored in his name. Asghar once again filed an appeal in the Supreme Court (SC) against the LHC’s decision, this time the apex court dismissed his application. He filed a new appeal which was dismissed too. Afterwards, Abdul Qadir and Yousaf, through Asghar’s attorney, filed an application for the land allotment before Awan and Ahmad, who illegally allotted the land to Asghar, violating the SC’s orders.
