Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Moulana Salimullah was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Latambar town of Karak district on Tuesday.
Per details, Salimullah was passing through the main bazaar of Latambar when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at his vehicle, killing the JUI-F leader on the spot. Salimullah, who was the JUI (F) Karak chief, was abducted by militants a couple of months back and was considered among leaders who opposed militancy and terrorism.
No one has claimed responsibility for the assassination so far, however, locals hold the Taliban responsible.
