Irked by illegal water hydrants, SITE Ltd decides to act

The Sindh Industrial and Trading Estates (SITE) Limited decided on Tuesday to take action against the illegal water hydrants being operated in the areas within its jurisdiction In its annual general meeting, the SITE Ltd general body also approved the auditor firm “Ibraheem and Company” for completing the SITE Ltd’s audit works and instructed the company to finish the audit report by October 2011 so that it can be presented in the next meeting for approval. The participants of the meeting expressed grave concern about the illegal water hydrants being operated by the water mafia in the industrial areas, creating a water shortage.
The SITE MD assured the participants that legal action would taken against those involved in this business. The MD ordered the SITE Ltd Chief Engineer Shams Sehto to lodge FIRs against the owners of the illegal hydrants. The MD said that Rs 30 million has been released by the Finance Department for a flyover at Habib Bank Chowrangi. An effluent treatment plant and other projects including the removal of encroachments from the industrial areas were approved during the meeting. Sindh Industries Secretary Zameer Ahmad Khan and representatives of the SITE Association including Abdul Wahab Lakhani, Siraj Kassem Teli, SM Muneer and others were among those present on the occasion.
