Freedom Flotilla-2 comprising 15 ships carrying tonnes of humanitarian aid and thousands of human rights activists including some Pakistanis will set sail for Gaza on June 25, 2011.
Addressing a press conference, Khubaib Foundation Chairman Nadeem Ahmed Khan on Tuesday said his foundation was also planning to send a ship from Pakistan to the Flotilla-2 fleet to express noteworthy support for the besieged people of Gaza. “We plan to add a ship from Pakistan to the Flotilla-2 fleet to support the poor people of Gaza,” he said.
He appealed the people of Pakistan to come forward and donate and get themselves registered as volunteers for trip to Gaza. To a query, he said the planned launch of Freedom Flotilla-2 organised by the international philanthropic organisation Insani Haq-o-Hurriyat of Turkey partnered with 20 international non-governmental organisations.
“By all means we are justified in taking aid to our Gaza brethren and last year Flotilla journey serves as a precedent for Freedom Flotilla-2,” Khan said.
