CDA auctions 23 residential plots for Rs 385.2 million

The case strapped Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday auctioned 23 residential plots in Islamabad at Rs 385.2 million. The auction was supervised by a committee headed by Finance member Saeed-ur-Rehman, while Estate & Planning member Tahir Shamshad, Engineering member Abdul Jabbar Malano, Public Relations director, Estate Management-I director, Estate Management-II director, One Window Operation director and Deputy Financial Advisor were also present on the occasion. The auction committee would submit its recommendations to the CDA Board, the final authority for approval, a CDA official said.
He said auctions were the chief contributor to CDA’s revenue and the authority’s high ups had eyed the plots auction to solve its financial crises. This auction was held at Aabpara Community Centre. A large number turned up for the auction on the first day, while CDA had offered 23 residential plots for bidding. The two-day auction is for both residential and commercial plots and would continue till May 31, he said.
CDA had offered 10 plots for bidding in sector F-11/1 and F-11/2. Plot number 228-C, measuring 500 square yards, received the highest bid of Rs 55, 000 per square yard, while plot number 153 in street 24 of sector F-11, measuring 400 square yards, received the lowest bid of Rs 40,500 per square yard. Nine plots were put on auction in sector G-10/2. Plot number 102-B, measuring 233.33 square yards, received the highest bid of Rs 47, 000 per square yard. Meanwhile, plot number 68 in street 02, measuring 311 square yards, received the lowest bid of Rs 37,500 per square yard.
Auction of the two plots, measuring 355 square yards each, were offered in sector D-12/3 and 01 each in F-10/2 and G-10/3. Plot number 224 of G-10/3 got the highest bid of Rs 50, 000 per square yard. Auction of commercial plots would be held today.
