An alternate opinion

The issue of widening Canal Road at the cost of several established trees is a matter of divided opinion. I daily travel on this road and choking of road is so frequent that it needs to be resolved immediately in one way or another. While I am tired off from travelling on this toad, I do recognise some merit in the opinion against cutting trees.

I would like to present an alternate which can resolve the problem and also save trees. This option can be experimented between University Bridge and Jinnah Hospital Crossing. On both sides of Canal Road, a side lane after green belt runs across. The side road may be constructed as a second two-lane highway road with 8’ collar for motorbikes. All motorbikes and buses shall be directed on side roads after its widening and reconstruction. The side road shall be constructed to meet specifications of highway. That will save all trees and problem of traffic will also be resolved. It means we will develop four-lane Canal Road divided into two and two lanes with green belt in between.

Further, I would request the government that some solution be provided to public without further delay.
