World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world  every year on May 31. After the devolution of Ministry of Health, Tobacco Control Cell (TCC) is expected to be dysfunctional and there is no hope that the Tobacco Control Cell will survive after the devolution process. This has been learnt by a source working with the ministry.

He said Pakistan was having a good track record regarding implementation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and it was very important that a national and central coordinating body such as the Tobacco Control Cell should continue its work.
